Minerals for Life™ water-soluble Chromium is a dietary supplement containing elemental chromium.

Chromium is an essential mineral to maintain good health. The metabolism of lipids and glucose is dependent on chromium, which helps the body maintain healthy energy levels and mental alertness.* Chromium is referred to as the “master regulator,” helping to regulate sugar levels in the body.

Chromium is a potent metabolic hormone that aids in the breakdown and distribution of protein and carbohydrates so the body can use those fuels efficiently. Weight loss is promoted when chromium is taken.* Chromium supports normal thyroid hormone, which regulates the body’s ability to burn calories. It also alters the metabolism of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that controls the appetite and curbs cravings for sugar.* Chromium works best if taken before meals to help maintain normal blood sugar levels.* Getting enough Chromium promotes good health and longevity.* Currently, the average American diet does not contain sufficient amounts of chromium because of the depletion of vital minerals in our soil. It is estimated by scientists that 90% of Americans don’t get enough chromium.

Chromium levels decrease with age. Chromium is excreted in urine, and sugar increases the rate of chromium loss by up to 300% in 24 hours. Chromium levels can also be depleted by engaging in strenuous exercise. Therefore, it is necessary that we replace chromium daily.

Chromium helps promote healthy sugar levels in the body.* It assists in the breakdown and distribution of protein and carbohydrates so the body can use those fuels efficiently.* It has also been suggested that chromium can help support muscle function and boost production of the hormone DHEA.*

Minerals for Life Chromium is pure chromium in an ionic/ water-soluble form that is absorbable at the cellular level and is not a picolinate. Contrary to common belief, chromium picolinate is not the best form of chromium.
