Is
it God’s Will For You To Be Healed?
Part
2.
Some
people tell me that they are going to follow the health plan while
taking chemotherapy. That’s
like telling me that they are going to take poison with a carrot
juice chaser. No man
can serve two masters. Notice
the words “Let not that man think that he shall receive an
thing of the Lord.”
Matt
6:24
No
man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one,
and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the
other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
That’s
being double minded. Trust
God and trust man at the same time? Remember James said: For let not that man think that he
shall receive any thing of the Lord.
James
5:15
And the
prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up;
and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
Believe
that God will do what he promised to do.
See
The Healer and not just the healing.
Matt
6:24-33
24
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and
love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the
other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
25
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life,
what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body,
what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body
than raiment?
26
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap,
nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye
not much better than they?
27
Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the
field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29
And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not
arrayed like one of these.
30
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is,
and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe
you, O ye of little faith?
31
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat?
or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32(For
after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your
heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God (Jesus), and his
righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
But
what is the kingdom of God? Jesus said in:
John
14:17-21
17
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it
seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he
dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19
Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me:
because I live, ye shall live also.
20
At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in
me, and I in you.
21
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth
me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will
love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Matt
6:33
But
seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Luke
17:21
Neither
shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the
kingdom of God is within you.
John
3:3-5
3
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except
a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
(he cannot see Jesus Christ for he is the kingdom of God as will now
be shown.)
4
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can
he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man
be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter
into the kingdom of God.
John
14:3
And
if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive
you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be
also.
Therefore,
the kingdom of God is not heaven and it is not a place, it is
Jesus himself; He is the kingdom of heaven, the kingdom of
God. These two terms
are used interchangeably translated from the same Greek word in
Strong’s #3588. Notice the words, “Seek ye first the kingdom of
God and his righteousness.”
The kingdom of God is Jesus himself.
Therefore, seek Jesus and HIS righteousness.
Healing
also requires that you accept responsibility for your illness.
Just rebuking the devil will not accomplish anything.
Remember the scripture that is often quoted to us “Resist
the devil and he will flee from you” in James 4:7.
But this is taken out of context for the entire verse says:
7 Submit
yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will
flee from you.
Notice
that your must submit yourselves unto God first and then
resist the devil and all his lies. In other words, OBEY His Word
and believe His promises.
Being
ill without knowledge is sort of being a horse without a bridle.
Hos
4:6
My
people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou
hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be
no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I
will also forget thy children.
We
have not relied on God’s word, we have only relied on what the
doctor’s have told us and we have chosen to believe them instead
of believing God.
Satan
is the author of disease but does he just sit there and curse us
with disease?
Satan
tries to convince us that we haven’t got time to wait on the Lord
to heal us. The doctor
tells us that the chemotherapy or radiation or operation must be
done immediately. I did
not get cancer because I lacked the chemotherapy, radiation or
surgery.
It
is the wrong choices that we make in our lives, in our diet, in our
lifestyle, in our not forgiving, stress in our lives, too much
sugar, too much liquor, not enough sleep and in not trusting God;
these are the things that cause our disease.
We must acknowledge that we did it to ourselves.
Then we can begin reversing the factors that have caused the
disease.
If
we don’t admit to ourselves that we helped cause the disease, then
we feel helpless to turn it around. Prayer is a requirement for healing.
James
5:15
And
the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall
raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be
forgiven him.
Many
have not received God’s blessing because they want to dictate to
God how and when they get healed.
Positive prayer does bring results.
It may be fast, it may be slow.
God may do it instantly or He may do it gradually, but once
the prayer of faith is offered, it is now in the hands of God. Never ask God about the same illness again.
All your future prayer should be thanking Him for His promise
to heal you. But your
do not just sit there waiting for the Lord, you got to have action.
If I go on God’s health plan, how do I follow my progress?
Why do you want to follow your progress?
To see if the plan is working?
Get off of God’s health wagon and go get chemotherapy.
If you had that in your head all along, God knows that you
are not committed to the plan.
A week commitment like that shows no faith.
God guarantees his plan that He will keep you away from every
disease.
Deut
7:11-19
11
Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and
the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them.
12
Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments,
and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee
the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:
13
And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will
also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy
corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the
flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to
give thee.
14
Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or
female barren among you, or among your cattle.
15
And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness,
and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou
knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that
hate thee.
16
And thou shalt consume all the people which the LORD thy God shall
deliver thee; thine eye shall have no pity upon them: neither shalt
thou serve their gods; for that will be a snare unto thee.
17
If thou shalt say in thine heart, These nations are more than
I; how can I dispossess them?
18
Thou shalt not be afraid of them: but shalt well
remember what the LORD thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt;
19
The great temptations which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the
wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby the
LORD thy God brought thee out: so shall the LORD thy God do unto all
the people of whom thou art afraid.
Dr.
Lorraine Day followed her progress and the tumor was getting bigger
and worse and worse in weeks. But
she was not going out of God’s Word
into the world of crazy medicine and let them kill her with
poisons. And remember
that Lorraine Day is a doctor.
She hung on to God’s promises and she didn’t even have
tests done. She stuck
with God’s promises with faith and righteousness but not with her
own righteousness, but that which is of Jesus Christ for He is the
propitiation for our sins like we all used to stick with sin and
doubt.
1
John 2:2
And he
is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but
also for the sins of the whole world.
Gal
1:4
Who
gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from
this present evil world, according to the will of God and our
Father:
Isa
43:25-26
25
I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine
own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
26
Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that
thou mayest be justified.
Remind
Him of his promises.
Bring
the healing texts before God continually and He will answer your
prayer.
Deut
7:11-15
13
And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will

flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to
give thee.
14
Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or
female barren among you, or among your cattle.
15
And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will
put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon
thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.
Ps
42:11
Why
art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within
me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who
is the health of my countenance, and my God.
He
healed Dr. Day of her cancer and He will do the same for you.
He will give you the knowledge that you need to know to
change your eating habits and change your lifestyle.
1
John 5:14-15
14
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we
ask any thing according to his will, (and we know that His will is
for us to be healed and be in health) he heareth us:
15
And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know
that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
3
John 2
Beloved,
I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in
health, even as thy soul prospereth.
The
word “health” in this verse is the Greek word:
NT:
#5198
hugiaino
(hoog-ee-ah'-ee-no); from NT: #5199; to have sound health, i.e. be
well (in body); figuratively, to be uncorrupt (true in doctrine):
KJV
- be in health, (be safe and) sound, (be) whole (-some).
But
notice that the root word is #5199 that means “true in
doctrine”.
NT:
#5199
hugies
(hoog-ee-ace'); from the base of NT: #837; healthy, i.e. well (in
body); figuratively, true (in doctrine):
KJV
- sound, whole.
So
if we know that He hears us we know that we have the petition that
we ask of Him.
You
cannot be rebellious or cavalier towards the Lord and expect to get
well. We must do the
best that we can do. God
looks at our heart and holds us responsible for what we know and
will show us what we don’t know to better tweak our healing
methods.
To
be saved, you must do
your own repenting, your own believing, your own confessing, your
own accepting and your own receiving.
This is the same for your own healing.
You can ask others to pray for you, but don’t rely on their
faith to get you well. Faith
will always move the hand of God.
Heb
11:6
But
without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to
God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that
diligently seek him.
But
what is faith and how do your get it?
Eph
2:8-9
8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not
of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not
of works, lest any man should boast.
Heb
12:2
Looking
unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy
that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and
is set down at the right hand of the throne of God
We
have no faith of our own, we only have belief (trust) in God.
Therefore, when we repent of our sins and accept Him as our
Lord and Saviour he imparts His faith unto us.
Therefore, Jesus, being the author and finisher of our
faith is Himself faith
NT:
#4102
pistis
(pis'-tis); from NT: #3982; persuasion, i.e. credence; moral
conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a
religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation;
abstractly, constancy in such profession; by extension, the system
of religious (Gospel) truth itself:
KJV
- assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity.
Notice
that the root word is #3982 showing to trust.
NT:
#3982
peitho
(pi'-tho); a primary verb; to convince (by argument, true or false);
by analogy, to pacify or conciliate (by other fair means);
reflexively or passively, to assent (to evidence or authority), to
rely (by inward certainty):
KJV
- agree, assure, believe, have confidence, be (wax) conflent, make
friend, obey, persuade, trust, yield.
Thayer's
Greek Lexicon shows the definition to be:
NT:
#138
haireoo,
hairoo:
to
take;
to
take for oneself, to choose, prefer: Phil 1:22; 2 Thess 2:13
2
Peter 1:4-11
4
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises:
that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having
escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue;
and to virtue knowledge;
6
And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to
patience godliness;
7
And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness
charity.
8
For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye
shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord
Jesus Christ.
9
But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off,
and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling
and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
11
For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the
everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Notice
God does not tell you to add faith because He is the source of your
faith. He gives you faith. He
gives you himself so that He can dwell in you as you are his
tabernacle.
1
Cor 3:16-17
16
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit
of God dwelleth in you?
(This
is what the baptism of the Holy Spirit is for, that He may dwell in
you.)
17
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the
temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
1
Cor 6:19-20
19
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy
Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify
God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
2.
Action
We
have to do what we know is right.
After Jesus healed a man He said:
John
5:14
14
Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him,
Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing
come unto thee.
How
long do I have to do this plan?
This is a change of a lifestyle.
You don’t go back and repeat your old way and not expect to
get the same results.
A
believer must do more than just believe on the word, he must
act on the word.
James
1:22-25
22
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only,
deceiving your own selves.
23
For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto
a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24
For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway
forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25
But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and
continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of
the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Study
it and research it and read all the reference materials to make it
part of you. Faith is
doing what god tells us to do and expecting God to do what He
promised to do. Naaman
dipped himself 7 times in the dirty Jordan River, obeying the
prophet’s command and was healed of his leprosy.
2
Kings 5:10-14
10
And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in
the Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and
thou shalt be clean.
11
But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold,
I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the
name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and
recover the leper.
12
Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the
waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned
and went away in a rage.
13
And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father,
if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not
have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and
be clean?
14
Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan,
according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again
like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
This
is a representative of water baptism that god requires of us to be
washed from our sins and to be made clean. Just as the cleansing of
the leper in Lev. 14 is also a type and shadow of water baptism.
Lev
14:2-7
2
This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing:
He shall be brought unto the priest:
3
And the priest shall go forth out of the camp; and the priest shall
look, and, behold, if the plague of leprosy be healed in the leper;
4
Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed
two birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:
The
two birds here in this verse represents the Lord Jesus Christ and
the second bird represents your new creation in Christ Jesus.
The cedar wood represents your body, the scarlet your blood
and the hyssop, your spirit and all are immersed in the blood of the
first bird (representing the blood of Jesus Christ in water baptism
and the water represents the water that we are baptized in)
5
And the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an
earthen vessel over running water: (Jesus was killed in an earthen
vessel, his flesh, and shed his blood for us. Jesus changed the
water at the wedding feast to wine representing the blood.)
6
As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and
the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird
in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water: (we
are released into the world to be kings and priests unto Him)
7
And he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the
leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let
the living bird loose into the open field.
Ten
lepers came to Jesus for healing and He tells them to go to the high
priest; but under Lev. 14 only a leper who had been healed was to go
to the high priest. Yet
these 10 lepers obeyed and while they were yet lepers walked toward
the high priest and as they walked away from Jesus they were all
healed, but only one returned to Jesus to glorify God, realizing
that he had already just met the real high priest, Jesus Christ.
Jesus asks where the others are.
They all obeyed the letter of the law of Lev. 14 but missed
the revelation, the spirit of the law when they were healed.
Luke
17:12-19
12
And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that
were lepers, which stood afar off:
13
And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy
on us.
14
And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves
unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they
went, they were cleansed.
15
And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back,
and with a loud voice glorified God,
16
And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was
a Samaritan.
17
And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but
where are the nine?
18
There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this
stranger.
19
And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made
thee whole.
You
must be willing to believe that God will do what He has promised to
do.
Faith
has nothing to do with feelings.
It only has to do with what god has said.
2.
Keep God’s commandments
We
must give ear to His commandments to love one another because He
said that in this is fulfilled all the law.
John
13:34-35
34
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another;
as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love
one to another.
1
John 2:8-12
8 Again, a new
commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you:
because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.
9
He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in
darkness even until now.
10
He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and
there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
11
But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in
darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness
hath blinded his eyes.
12
I write unto you, little children, because your sins are
forgiven you for his name's sake.
Deut
5:29-33
29
O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me,
and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well
with them, and with their children for ever!
30
Go say to them, Get you into your tents again.
31
But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee
all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which thou
shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I
give them to possess it.
32
Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded
you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
33
Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded
you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that
ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.
Prov
4:20-22
20
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21
Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine
heart.
22
For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all
their flesh.
And
it is a command of god that we should teach them to our children.
Deut
6:7-13
7
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and
shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou
walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest
up.
8
And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall
be as frontlets between thine eyes.
9 And thou shalt
write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
